Elijah Muhammad Created Yahweh ben Yahweh!

Elijah Muhammad Created Yahweh ben Yahweh!

By Khalil Amani

I was 19 years old when I joined the Nation of Yahweh in the spring of 1980 in Miami. Back then, Yahweh ben Yahweh went by the name of Ock Moshe (Brother Moses). He was a mild-mannered, leisure-suit-wearing black man with a mini afro and mysteriously green/hazel eyes and well-manicured fingernails—the kind of fingernails you’d see on a pimp.

I was awestruck by his message that black people were the chosen people of God, the original Jews of the Bible and that God, Jesus, the prophets and angels were black people.

Yahweh ben Yahweh quickly made me one of his “spiritual sons”—being amongst the first fifty (50) or so people to follow him. I became a full-time worker and the personal bodyguard of his confidant/woman/wife/national secretary, Sister Judith. I lived in the same building, just doors away from Yahweh ben Yahweh’s office and bedroom. As one YouTuber is famous for saying, “He let me into his intimacy”—meaning, Yahweh ben Yahweh and I shared intimate and tender moments together—non-sexual moments—father/son moments. Yahweh ben Yahweh has cried with me over my life’s woes. He became my spiritual father.

Here I am as a 21 yr. old bodyguard for Yahweh ben Yahweh in 1981. I was "inner-circle!"

In the beginning, I thought Yahweh ben Yahweh’s Hebrew Israelite message to black people was original. I had never heard of such a doctrine. I thought that everything he said and taught was from his “Divine Mind”—from heaven—from God Almighty! For the first three years of being a part of the Nation of Yahweh I knew nothing of Yahweh ben Yahweh’s past or former life (and I don’t think I really cared!) It wasn’t until three (3) years into my brainwashing at the hands of Yahweh ben Yahweh that I started getting inklings of his past life.

I really believed that he was who he said he was—God, the Son of God! Our Messiah!

Three years after joining the Nation of Yahweh and rising to the rank of “Elder” (at the tender age of 23—go figure!)—I was sent to Newark, New Jersey in 1983 where I headed a congregation. This is when I started finding out who my leader was in his past lives—before he metamorphosed into Yahweh ben Yahweh—"God, the Son of God!"

I ran into Black Muslims and an older brotha who had been in the Black Panther Party and the Nation of Islam who told me that Yahweh ben Yahweh was none other than Hulon X aka Hulon Shah, a former minister in the Nation of Islam—Atlanta’s Temple #15.

I didn’t want to believe the report! I thought, “What the hell?” because I didn’t wanna attribute Yahweh ben Yahweh’s brilliance to another man—Elijah Muhammad. I had previously seen—watched—and heard Yahweh ben Yahweh run roughshod over Elijah Muhammad, Louis Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam with scathing commentary from his podium. His disdain and hatred for The Nation—his vitriol—his mean-spiritedness and double-edged sword came for the heads of Elijah and Farrakhan one Sunday afternoon when members of the Nation of Islam in Miami came to our temple for dinner. Yahweh ben Yahweh roared within earshot of these Black Muslims! “Yahweh is God! Their dead leader, Elijah Muhammad—a dead nigga! A dumb-dog dead nigga! Now they’re followin’ another (mentally) dead nigga, Farrakhan! That’s that nigga’s death! He’s trying to build a nation on the grave of a dead man! He’s leading them straight to hell! They all gonna have to bow down to me—the mighty God!”

Needless to say, those Nation of Islam members dropped their forks and beat it up out of there! That was 1982—prior to me going to Newark and finding out that my teacher was once part of the Nation of Islam. At the time, I didn’t think anything strange about Yahweh ben Yahweh ranting on the Nation of Islam and Minister Louis Farrakhan, because Yahweh ben Yahweh ranted on every so-called black leader—even Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.—another “dumb-dog preacher” as he would call him. Farrakhan’s only mistake was trying to lead black folk in the age of Yahweh ben Yahweh.

As a member of the Yahweh cult (Yes! That’s exactly what it was—a cult!), I believed in the divinity of Yahweh ben Yahweh and his knowledge! I believed that his Hebrew Israelite message was unique and original. It wasn’t until I went to Newark that I realized that our Hebrew Israelite message was not unique and original. I ran into Hebrew Israelites of other persuasions and I ran into a group of guys called the “Ansaaru Allah Community” who were claiming to be “Islamic Hebrews”—quite a paradoxical and oxymoronic phrase to say the least! I thought, “Are you Muslim or Hebrew? You can’t be both!” Their leader, Issa Al Haadi Al Mahdi (who would later morph into Malachi Z. York in Georgia) was on some sort of messianic mission as well.

Yahweh ben Yahweh was God in the flesh and all others were pretenders to the throne!

The Universe is great! In its time, it will wake you up. And so, after leaving Newark and going back to Miami to sit at the feet of Yahweh ben Yahweh and watch him fumble the messianic football—I left the cult, realizing that I had been thoroughly duped and thoroughly brainwashed by Yahweh ben Yahweh. He was no god at all, but rather mere, mortal, sinful man—given in to his own passions and lusts and idiosyncrasies and short-comings and humanness.

It is only after leaving the Yahweh cult that I was able to look behind the curtain—lift up Yahweh ben Yahweh’s robe and expose his teenie, weenie phallus—in other words, cogently deconstruct his persona and learn about him.

Yahweh ben Yahweh started his Hebrew Israelite movement in the last city in the South—Miami—where most black folk had never heard of black Hebrew Israelites. This was some new shit! After leaving the Yahweh cult and studying Hebrew Israelite doctrine, I found out that Yahweh ben Yahweh’s Hebrew Israelite message was nothing new or unique. The Hebrew Israelite movement can be traced back to the early 1800’s with a slave named “Old Billy” who supposedly started teaching that blacks were Jews. From there, the Israelite doctrine was handed down to William Christian—and then Joseph Helevy (1867)—William S. Crowdy (1896)—Frank S. Cherry (1900’s)—Marcus Garvey (1924)—Arnold Ford (1924)—Rabbi Abel Respes (1951)—Albert Cleage Jr. (1953)—Ben Ammi Israel (1960)—Rabbi Arthur Wentworth MatthewsProphet William A. Lewis (1965).

Yahweh ben Yahweh NEVER taught the history of the Hebrew Israelite movement and NEVER mentioned the aforementioned precursors and progenitors of Hebrew Israelite thought. Yahweh ben Yahweh wanted us to believe that what he brought to Miami was original, but before Yahweh ben Yahweh became this son of God phenom, he sat at the feet of a great one--The Honorable Elijah Muhammad!

It is true! Yahweh ben Yahweh had been the student of Elijah Muhammad. Hulon Mitchell dropped his “slave” last name and received his “X” from Elijah Muhammad and then rose to the rank of minister where he became Hulon Shah (ruler). Hulon Shah was in the Nation of Islam from 1961 to 1967. Minister Shah aka Yahweh ben Yahweh personally knew Elijah Muhammad, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King Jr., Stokely Carmichael and Minister Louis Farrakhan.

Hulon Shah aka Yahweh ben Yahweh.

The Nation of Yahweh, as it turned out, was no more than a copycat and a rip-off of the Nation of Islam. The name of God changed from Allah to Yahweh, but the dietary laws—beans & rice, bean pies and veggie burgers came straight from the Nation of Islam. Yahweh ben Yahweh made us learn the “General Orders” and the “Actual Facts”—stuff straight out of the Nation of Islam! Yahweh theology is a mixture of Christianity and the Nation of Islam with a sprinkle of Judaism.

What Happened? Why did Hulon Shah (Yahweh ben Yahweh) leave the Nation of Islam?

According to Pulitzer Prize winner and Miami Herald writer Sydney P. Freedberg, in her book, Brother Love: Murder, Money and a Messiah, this is why Hulon Shah (aka Yahweh ben Yahweh) left the Nation of Islam:

“…the Shah [Yahweh ben Yahweh] was abusing his ministry, wielding power for private gain and personal satisfaction. Unnamed informants accused him of skimming $50,000 in legal fees that Elijah Muhammad had wired down for some of Shah’s incarcerated men. According to Taalib Ahmad, a close aide to Mr. Muhammad, Chicago received unsubstantiated allegations of sexual improprieties—possible battery of minors and ‘homosexual tendencies’…’He [Hulon/Yahweh ben Yahweh] was weak,’ Taalib said, ‘The reports we got was that he was taking the teachings and using them as a shield for his own purposes… to secure power and wealth for himself and hide his immoral side’.” …Elijah Muhammad ordered a no-holds-barred investigation [of Yahweh ben Yahweh]. Rather than be cut off from the Nation, Hulon Shah quit, before the investigators substantiated any of the charges. The Muslims said they did not seek vengeance. ‘Allah will punish him [Hulon Shah/Yahweh ben Yahweh] for it in his own good time,’ they quoted Elijah Muhammad” (63-64).

Elijah Muhammad created Yahweh ben Yahweh!

The notion that Yahweh ben Yahweh is an original messianic archetype, without mentioning his stay in the Nation of Islam under the tutelage of Elijah Muhammad is sheer blasphemy! The followers of Yahweh ben Yahweh need to understand this! Yahweh ben Yahweh became Elijah Muhammad 2.0.—Elijah Muhammad on religious crack! Yahweh ben Yahweh became arguably the most influential Hebrew Israelite leader, but his roots lie in the Nation of Islam!

In death, Yahweh ben Yahweh remains a god to the believers. Conversely, in death, Yahweh ben Yahweh was exposed as mere, mortal man—a man who could not heal himself of colon cancer—a man who was humbled by civil jurisprudence (jail time)—and a messiah figure, who, as it turns out, was the student of the greatest American messianic figure—The Honorable Elijah Muhammad!

Have a listen to a young 32 year old Hulon Shah aka Yahweh ben Yahweh speak to Atlanta media.

After Hulon Shah aka Yahweh ben Yahweh leaves to Nation of Islam, he changes religion and becomes a prayer cloth selling, numbers peddling Christian preacher of the Rev. Ike ilk named "Father Michel" (pronounced Mee shell). This would be his last stop before he becomes Yahweh ben Yahweh.
